The Value of Self — Part 1 "The man who does not value himself, cannot value anything or anyone." — Ayn Rand I have found that the more I value my own life, the more I naturally value the lives of other people. When we grasp how precious our own existence is, we can easily project that onto other people. When an eternal life fan see's another person, we see a life that could potentially LIVE FOREVER, so life becomes more precious. Conversely, when you view people as being ultimately food for worms, they become more disposable. This is another reason why the death-positive movement is dangerous, because it presupposes that we are doomed to die and thereby devalues life. If someone isn't trying to live forever or believes living forever is impossible, don't expect them to care if you live forever.
