If you want to live forever, don't ever get blood on your hands. Having innocent blood on your hands is dangerous for a multitude of reasons and it decreases your chances of living forever. Humans have a craving for justice and if the law doesn't get you, some vigilante might... This is why it's best to be completely innocent and blameless of any wrongdoing. It's for your own survival.
