The idea of "leaving a legacy" or being remembered after you die is just a ridiculous delusion of humanity. If you die and cease to exist, it won't make a bit of difference what people thought about you. Just face up to the reality that you're existence was a pointless joke if you die and cease to exist. What people should care about is living forever physically and never dying, which can be accomplished with technology. There is a slim chance of being saved any other way. Do you love your existence? Then donate to SENS.org and encourage others to do so. There are only two honest positions -- living forever or nihilism. If one insists that death is inevitable, then the logical conclusion for that person is nihilism. Religious people seem to understand this, but most atheists and humanists are not fessing up to this truth. They insist that life is somehow meaningful -- even if it ends. They have failed to do the math. If life ends in a big fat ZERO, what's the point? I refuse to be a nihilist. I want to have a meaningful existence and the ONLY WAY to have a meaningful existence is to live forever. The honest position is that death makes life meaningless, simply because one must have a conscious mind to have meaning. "Death is the mother of worms, eating your rotting body.
