The idea that humans have an immaterial soul is WISHFUL THINKING. What eternal life fans want is a way to live forever PHYSICALLY and never die. To die is a huge gamble and every wise person would avoid making this gamble at all costs. Many people act as if they have a soul because that's what their parents told them. The soul is a ancient idea that humanity invented because people were afraid of death. It gives people comfort but this is a false security. In all likelihood, when you die you cease to exist forever. Our BRAIN is the source of our consciousness and must be kept healthy for us to exist. We need to do whatever we can to hasten research for Indefinite life extension and stay as healthy as possible in the meantime.
